Our latest stop on the Genius road trip took us to meet the wonderful team at Coffee#1 in the sunny city of Bristol. We enjoyed a tour of their office, which fully embodies their 'fun-vibe' with walls adorned with pictures from staff events and presentation ceremonies. We also had the chance to see where the 'magic' happens in the Barista training area.

Coffee#1 demonstrates a commendable approach to 'skills-based and behavioral recruitment.' They have established training programs and career pathways for all new (and returning) recruits, and they continuously seek ways to support their colleagues.

During our visit, we engaged in a meaningful conversation about the CV versus skills approach to recruitment and how utilising various 'tools' can help identify the right candidates who share aligned values, work styles, experience, and help reduce attrition.
